Last August, these two gathered their families on the grass of Logan Circle, as they began their marriage.

Three days before their wedding ceremony, Annie reached out on instagram. Right from her initial message, I could feel her excitement. There’s something so magical about smaller ceremonies - each little detail stands out with importance. We met on the grass between Logan Circle and the Franklin Institute. Their immediate families gathered around to share in their excitement and witness their unification. It was so beautiful to witness everyone being so present, as they signed their marriage license and shared a few words. Even though we were standing among the busy city, the air around them was peaceful and filled with love.

Following their ceremony, we wandered up the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, for portraits outside of the Rodin Museum. Along the way, we ran into Mr Softee. Anni swears he follows her everywhere, so it was only fitting that he made an appearance on their wedding day.

The simplicity put the focus on their love, which is EXACTLY how it should be.

If you are planning a smaller ceremony - from intimate family gatherings, to just the two of you, I’d love to document your marriage, in a way that feels true to you. From backyards to breweries, and elopements to huge celebrations, it is an honor to witness and photograph your love.
