What has been the weirdest or most difficult part of this time for you and your family?: I’m 34 weeks pregnant and this has been pretty scary. My husband is a substitute teacher and a server and is out of work for the foreseeable future. We’ve had to cancel my shower to keep our family safe, which I know is pretty minor in the big picture, but was upsetting.

What is your silver lining? What have you been enjoying about these days at home?: The dog is very happy to have us home! It’s also been really wonderful to see our community be there for each other during this unprecedented time.

Why is this time meaningful for you to document?: I don’t really have any pregnancy photos. I had planned a shoot with my wedding photographer but totaled my car before this whole coronavirus situation and had to cancel the photo shoot due to the unexpected expenses that came with that. I was looking forward to taking lots of photos at my shower, but we’ve had to cancel. This is a wonderful thing you’re doing! I’d be so happy to at least have a portrait with my husband documenting my first pregnancy and what should be a really happy time in our lives.

What do you love most about Collingswood?: The community. This situation has really cemented what a strong and wonderful community we’ve joined. Coronavirus aside, I’m excited to raise my child here. They say it takes a village and Collingswood is up to the task.
