Moments after my nephew was born, I remember staring at my sister, in total shock and awe of her and the little baby in her arms. "Minutes ago you were one person, and now you are two... forever two". Immediately followed by, "How the heck did that whole baby fit in there!?!" Three years later, I had similar thoughts after my own son was born (just multiply the shock factor by about a million).
And just like that, this tiny person takes over your life.
But even before the sweet baby arrives, pregnancy brings so many feelings - anxiety, fear, hope, joy, more fear. I love maternity sessions because it allows Momma (and Dad) to step outside of their heads for a few moments and focus on the glowing, nurturing love that is pregnancy. Nick and Irene embodied this nurturing love so perfectly, and I feel thankful to have had a small part in the journey toward Maxwell's arrival. Laughter filled our session, and their interactions were gentle and effortless. Tenderness radiated from Irene. And the way that Nick looks at her, seriously, it's beyond magical.
Nick, Irene, Julianna, and Max - thank you for letting me into your world for this session. Wishing you all the best as Max joins in your adventure!
